Jens Klingelhöfer

CEO & Co-Founder

Prior to the founding of Bookwire, Jens Klingelhöfer was a media manager in the music industry for over 10 years. As managing director of the music marketing and management company MFM Entertainment, he was involved in many major and successful projects in music and entertainment. As an entrepreneur and marketing expert in the creative sector, he has a wealth of experience in designing and implementing creative and administrative processes and in developing and adapting new and ground-breaking business models – from manufacturing to marketing to sales.

His experience in the digital music market means that the co-founder of Bookwire can already draw on a decade of experience in selling digital content. At the start of his career, he worked as a media designer for books, and Bookwire sees him returning to the book sector.

John Ruhrmann

Managing Director & Co-Founder

John Ruhrmann previously worked as a product manager with the Frankfurt audio media company 3p, supporting releases by Xavier Naidoo, Glashaus und Sabrina Setlur, amongst others. Since 2005, he has been advisor to one of the biggest German independent music publishing houses, Melodie der Welt, as artist & repertoire manager. The co-founder of Bookwire has lived with the digitalisation of the music world from day 1. As a marketer of major music themes, he knows every area of the value-added chain in a creative business. Always looking for new ideas and forms of marketing, he is now contributing his full expertise in relation to sales and marketing of digital media to Bookwire. A lover of music and literature, he is particularly concerned about appropriate remuneration of protected content and content marketing that is not tied to any single company group.

Barbara Zeppenfeld

Head of Account Management

Barbara Zeppenfeld is a trained bookseller and has already worked on different sides of the book industry. After working at the Linnemann bookshop in Paderborn and in the distribution department of the publisher Gütersloher Verlagshaus, she was most recently responsible for compulsory delivery of eBooks at the German National Library. She has been supporting the Bookwire team as Account Manager since June 2012.

Johanna Krobitzsch

Senior Account Manager

Johanna Krobitzsch holds a diploma in book trade (Diplom Buchhandelswirtin (FH)). After her studies in Leipzig and a practical semester at Ch. Links Verlag in Berlin, she first worked for Cadmos Verlag near Hamburg. There she built up the e-book business and was also responsible for the international licensing business. She has been part of the Bookwire team since 2012 and helped build up the international business and manage the international teams until 2015. After her second parental leave, she now works as Senior Account Manager for German-language publishers, helping them to expand their digital business.

Franziska Neumann

Senior Account Manager

Franziska Neumann gained a bachelors’ degree in Bookselling and Publishing Management in Leipzig and studied Publishing and Media Trade Management as a master of arts. She worked in the marketing department of Hamburg based publisher Carlsen during her work placement semester. After spending a semester abroad at Oxford Brookes University, she began a traineeship at Bookwire in September 2013. Franziska Neumann is also an eBook fan in her spare time and reads books almost exclusively on her eReader.

Marie Berger

Account Manager

Marie Berger is a trained digital and print media professional. After completing two periods of practical training in the media sector and her school-leaving examinations in 2011, it was immediately clear which direction her career should take. During her two-year training at Bookwire, she was able to become familiar with many interesting and exciting topics in the media and publishing industry.
As Account Manager, Marie Berger supports publishing houses and labels in distributing their eBooks and audiobooks.

Jennifer Huth

Jennifer studied book- and media production before the trained bookseller worked as project manager at le-tex publishing Services in Leipzig. Previous stations in project coordination, sales and marketing had been Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg and Borm Bruckmeier Publishing, Los Angeles USA. Since 2015 she is supporting Bookwire in Frankfurt.

Carina Lenz

Account Manager

Carina Lenz has been working as an Account Manager at Bookwire since the beginning of 2017 and supports the acquisition of new publisher customers in Germany and abroad. The trained media merchant in digital and print was previously in e-book sales at libreka! and in the area of "publishing products" of the industry magazines Börsenblatt & Buchjournal. Currently she is completing a distance learning course in publishing and media management.

Katharina Laufs

Katharina Laufs has been working as Account Manager at Bookwire since March 2018. After completing her degree in 2014, the qualified book scientist first worked for Ravensburger Buchverlag in the Licenses and Coproductions department. Most recently, she was responsible for the rights and license area at Schirner Verlag.

Johanna Cantzler

Johanna Cantzler joined Bookwire immediately after completing her master's degree in publishing and commercial management. Since April 2018, she has been responsible for managing publishing clients as an account manager. In her first degree, the trained bookseller had completed the Bachelor of Arts in Book Trade / Publishing. She gained publishing experience among others in Aufbau Verlag.

Carina Müller

Junior Account Manager

Carina Müller joined the team in August 2017 as a junior account manager in training as a media saleswoman for digital and print - with her, the sixth generation of apprentices at Bookwire begins. After graduating from high school in 2016, Carina Müller completed a Voluntary Social Year.

Anne von der Lühe

Junior Account Manager

Anne von der Lühe began her training as a Management Assistant in Digital and Print Media at Bookwire in August 2018 and works as a Junior Account Manager in the team. She supports the publishers and is responsible for the coordination of the conversion. She is also part of the webinar project team.

Eric Bartoletti

Business Development Manager

After studying business administration, Eric Bartoletti worked as a business broker and in investor relations for several years, before becoming self-employed as a consultant for start-ups and international expansion strategies. Since August 2018 he supports the Bookwire management in strategic projects and drives forward the further development of professional services for publishers.

Dirk Kosian

International Business Development Manager

Dirk Kosian studied business administration in Mayence and worked several years in Spain and South America. Since may 2015 he is supporting the Bookwire team as international account manager. He is using his diverse experiences in international customer relations and project management for the coordination of our international teams and the support of our publishers abroad.

Ute Döring

Manager Executive Operations

After one year of parental leave, Ute Döring joined Bookwire in February 2019 as Manager Executive Operations. After studying theater, film and media studies, she completed a two-year traineeship in the corporate development of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels. In 2017, she took over the management of the Strategy and Innovation department at the Börsenverein.

Richard Haupt

Senior Shop Relations Manager

Richard Haupt studied library and information science and history in Berlin, during which time he was already working in the book trade. He subsequently became client manager at the publishing house Gmeiner-Verlag, where he was primarily responsible for all eBook sales. Richard Haupt was also the head of the eBooks study group in the junior parliament of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels (German publishers’ and booksellers’ association). Since 2012 he has worked as Account Manager and since 2016 as Senior Account Manager in the Frankfurt Bookwire team. As Senior Shop Relations Manager, Richard Haupt focuses on the shops on a commercial and contractual level since August 2019.

Head Of Marketing

For just under ten years, Frauke Prayon was sales manager at Eichborn Verlag, where she helped to shape the first steps into eBook distribution in the e-commerce sector. She then worked as a freelance marketing and distribution consultant for mediacampus Frankfurt. As Head of Marketing, Frauke Prayon is responsible for trade marketing at Bookwire.

Marketing Manager

Barbara Müller was working more than 10 years in the sales departments of various publishing houses. After supporting Eichborn Verlag in Frankfurt and Thienemann Verlag in Stuttgart she worked seven years as head of sales and and key account manager for arsEdition in Munich. Subsequently she came to Campus Verlag in Frankfurt before she joined the Bookwire marketing team in April 2015.

Svenja Rohr

Marketing Manager

From September 2014 to June 2016, Svenja Rohr completed her two-year training as a Digital and Print Media Manager at Bookwire, before which she worked in the stationary book trade. During her training Svenja Rohr first worked in Account Management and since March 2015 she has been responsible as Marketing Manager for the optimal marketing of digital products in the shops. In addition to providing support and advice to shops and publishing houses, her activities also include success analyses and editorial support for B2B newsletters.

Diana Klier

Marketing Manager

Diana Klier has been part of Bookwire's marketing team since July 2019. Prior to this, the trained bookseller and graduate Germanist worked in various publishing houses in sales and marketing, including as sales manager at Schirner Verlag in Darmstadt. At Bookwire she is responsible for trade marketing as well as supporting and advising publishers on their e-book marketing.

Junior Marketing Manager

Felicitas Boos has been working as a working student in marketing since January 2017. In addition to the documentation of marketing placements, she supports the team in audiobook marketing and in the creation of newsletters. She is currently studying book science in the master's degree and art history as a second degree student.

Marlene Seydlitz

Shop Relations Manager

Marlene Seydlitz has been working for Bookwire since October 2015. After completing a bachelor's degree in comparative literature, she completed her studies with a master's degree in book science. Her passion for books finbally led her, after experiences in publishing and journalism, to Bookwire, where she is responsible, among other things, for the support and technical connection of shops as well as the quality assurance of the products.

Senior Production Manager

Kristine Merget joined the Bookwire team in April 2014. As Account Manager, she supported our German-speaking customers in expanding their digital business. Since June 2016 the Dipl.-Ing. in Publisher Production (University of Applied Sciences) is responsible for Production Management and supports and advises our publisher's clients on e-book conversion and print-on-demand services.

Jessica Upmeier

Production Manager

Jessica Upmeier joined Bookwire in August 2017 as Junior Production Manager. In the company's own production department she is jointly responsible for the Bookwire publishing services for publisher clients. The qualified book store graduate completed a book studies degree, which she completed with the Master of Arts, and gained initial professional experience as a volunteer at the science publisher Otto Harrassowitz in Wiesbaden.

Franziska Heger

Head of Product

While studying on teaching profession in Heidelberg and Minster Franziska was working in a start-up company which focussed on the distribution of digital education media. After being in the account management of AbeBooks she subsequently entered the MVB in the sales department and product-management and was responsible for the eBook part libreka!. Since 2015 Franziska Heger had been part of the Bookwire account management team in Frankfurt. In April 2019 she began to work in a new role, the newly created position of Head of Product.

Steffen Möll

Head of Technology

As Head of Technology, Steffen Möll has been responsible for the development of Bookwire’s digital distribution structures and for setting up its audio book distribution since February 2013. An experienced digital manager and specialist in programming the relevant tools, he consistently takes care of further development of technical solutions.
Steffen Möll has already been responsible for setting up and developing services and structures in the digital sector as digital distribution manager at Intergroove Media GmbH.

Miriam Mondel

IT Product Manager

Since February 2018 Miriam Mondel supports the IT team of Bookwire in the implementation of projects. She studied business administration in a dual degree program at Deutsche Telekom and made there her first national and international work experiences. She joined Bookwire in July 2015 and worked as an account manager for publisher clients until she moved to the IT department.

IT Product Manager

Nina Rubach has joined the technical team as an IT product manager in September 2018. She studied book science and German studies in Mainz and completed her studies with a master's degree in book science. She completed various internships and is a comrade in astikos Verlag.

Franziska Woithon

Billing & Royalties Manager

The trained tax clerk and graduate publishing manager gained experience in the book industry after completing her training, ia. in sales and marketing of the Grätz Verlag as well as a bookseller in the antique book shop Boller in Kassel. Prior to joining Bookwire, she worked as Administrative Assistant at Cepheid GmbH. Since November 2016, she is strengthening Bookwire's accounting department.

Sonja Kara

Senior Manager Accounting & Reporting

Sonja Kara is part of Bookwire's Accounting Department as Senior Manager Accounting & Reporting since April 2018. At the beginning of her professional career, the qualified tax specialist first worked in tax consulting, then moved to the catering industry and led the back office of the Frankfurt Houseclub 190east for five years. From 2006 she supervised the fee billing of the Eichborn publishing house and then the S. Fischer publishing house.

Ayhan Cebi

Accounting Manager

Ayhan Cebi is the main accountant for all matters relating to Bookwire accounting since December 2018. He previously worked as a financial accountant and head of accounting at Velvet GmbH & Co. KG from May 2006 to June 2017. In 2018 he moved to the Deutschen Rat für Formgebung Service GmbH as an accountant and from there moved to Bookwire as Accounting Manager at the end of 2018.
