Welcome, Kampa Verlag! Bookwire is the exclusive distribution partner of the new publisher

Frankfurt a. M., 30 August 2018 – This year’s new publisher.Following successful spells at Diogenes and Hoffmann und Campe, Daniel Kampa is setting up his own publishing house. As soon as Kampa Verlag enters the market, Bookwire GmbH will take on all global eBook distribution, starting from the publisher’s first list.

“We have followed Daniel Kampa’s publishing career in recent years with interest, and we greatly respect the contributions he has made. It’s no secret that contributing our knowhow to such an exciting new business, from the beginning, is something really special for us”, enthuses Jens Klingelhöfer, CEO of Bookwire GmbH.

The first eight titles that Kampa is bringing to market will be available in all relevant shops from 6 September – pre-orders are already being taken. The publishing portfolio will initially be expanded to 40 titles by the beginning of November: German-language and international contemporary literature, (modern) classics and an extensive range of crime thrillers – from the founders of the genre to the latest gripping titles.

One of the real highlights of the Zurich-based publisher is the publication of the complete works of Georges Simenon, including 75 Maigret novels and 28 Maigret stories, as well as 117 long novels (in cooperation with Hoffmann und Campe), which will all also be available as eBooks.

“Simenon and his detective, Maigret, are a good example of why we have chosen Bookwire to be our eBook distribution partner. In the coming years, we will publish 15 Maigrets every six months, until all of the novels and stories can be supplied, because the fans are waiting impatiently. For that, and especially when it comes to distribution and marketing of our eBooks, we need a strong partner with country-specific roots, but the clout of a global player. A lot of work has gone into establishing our publishing house, so it’s good to not have to worry about eBook distribution”, summarises publisher Daniel Kampa.
