Mariana Féged is Bookwire’s New General Manager for Spanish Markets

Frankfurt am Main, July 29, 2021 – Since July 1st, 2021, Mariana Féged is Bookwire’s new General Manager for Spanish Markets, leading a growing team of 10 at their Barcelona office, and further driving innovation and growth for Bookwire’s Spanish-speaking markets.

Solutions-Oriented Business Leader and Entrepreneur
Féged is enthusiastically bringing her 20+ years of experience in strategic and operational leadership in ecommerce, digital marketing, internationalisation and more, to the digital publishing company, Bookwire. Together, they aim to help more and more publishers share their stories digitally with as many as possible.

Féged, a Reinhard Mohn fellow, was part of the international media company Bertelsmann for over 15 years. At Bertelsmann’s Círculo de Lectores, Féged, among other things, developed successful media subscription expansion strategies into Latin America, launched Spain’s first eBook subscription-based digital platform, and built Círculo’s first social media and content strategy. In 2015, she became Director of New Ventures and Innovation of Bertelsmann’s Arvato division, where she developed global B2B innovation strategies and built and managed strategic partnerships.

In 2018, Féged, a Sorbonne and Georgetown University alumnus, returned to her social entrepreneur roots and founded L’autre Sac, a sustainable fashion start-up pioneering the use of recycled and vegan materials. Féged oversaw the day-to-day operations and management of complex supply and production chains across three different continents. In addition, she championed the initiative of donating 10% of company profits to education and leadership training for young women in Bogotá, Columbia.

Innovating Digital Publishing in Spanish-Speaking Markets Together
Féged, taking the role over from Eric González Canova, is leading daily business operations for Bookwire Spain & Latin America, while further driving innovation of existing and new products. Mariana Féged states, "The Bookwire position is an ideal fit for me because it combines everything that is close to my heart, including innovation and technology, which are highly important and very dear to me. I look forward to help drive the digitisation of markets for Spanish-language books."

Jens Klingelhöfer, CEO of Bookwire adds, "I would like to thank Eric González Canova for his commitment and his great work. And now, I am very much looking forward to working with Mariana and to continue the successful development of the last few years and to take the next steps in Spanish-speaking markets. The best is yet to come!"
