We collect personal data when Bookwire sets up a customer account for you (business customers), if you send us a message using the contact form or if you redeem a code for downloading an eBook via our website.

We only use your data without specific consent for answering questions or if we are saving it in your customer account. For all other purposes, e.g. for redeeming download codes, we only use your data with your explicit consent.



2. Collection and use of usage data

When you visit our website as a registered or non-registered user, we create a “usage profile” using a pseudonym. We use cookies for this, i.e. text files that are saved on your computer. These cookies are only valid until the end of your internet session and are deleted when you close your browser.

We collect and store data anonymously for marketing and optimisation purposes. This data includes, for example, your IP address, internet browser used, the website from which you reached our site, the offers you have looked at on our website and the date and duration of your visit. A usage profile is created under a pseudonym from data that is not allocated to a specific person. Cookies can be used for this (see above). The usage profile is not combined with personal data, but only used for statistical evaluations to optimise what we offer. 4. Customer account (business customers)

When you set up a customer account for using the MACS platform, your name and contact details will be collected. We use this data to communicate with you. 



5. Redeeming a code for downloading an eBook

With your consent, we collect the data that you have been asked to provide (email address, download code and, if applicable, choice of file format) and the time of redeeming the download code, as well as more voluntary information about you, if applicable. We use the email address for sending the email containing the personal download link.

We record data for statistical purposes during the download (see 2, above). This data is recorded anonymously and not allocated to you.



6. Forwarding of data to third parties

We only pass on data to third parties without your consent if it is necessary for performing our contractual obligations, in particular, to the instructed bank for invoicing or in the event that there is legal permission to do so.



7. Your rights

You can request information about the data saved about you at any time and request correction, blocking or deletion of personal data at any time.
